HALIBURTON-KAWARTHA LAKES-BROCK – Today, the Ontario PC Party announced that Laurie Scott has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock in the next provincial general election.

She secured $1.57 million for new housing in Kawartha Lakes, $223.9 million for broadband expansion, and led critical upgrades to bridges in Durham Region. Her work has also enhanced health-care services through increased hospital funding and improved emergency response.

“Laurie Scott is a proven leader who has stood up for her community time and again,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “From fighting the Liberal carbon tax to improving local health care and securing critical infrastructure investments, Laurie’s dedication to Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock is unmatched. Her work is making life more affordable and creating opportunities for families, and I’m proud to have her on our team as we continue to deliver results for Ontario.”

Laurie and the Ontario PC Party will continue to make life more affordable for families in Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock by reducing costs, such as cutting the gas tax and scrapping license plate fees, while investing in housing, health care, and local infrastructure.

“Representing Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock is more than a job—it’s my passion,” said Laurie Scott. “I’ve worked hard to deliver real, lasting results for our communities, from expanding high-speed internet in rural areas to fighting human trafficking and investing in critical infrastructure like housing and health care. I hear from people every day about the challenges they face, and I’m driven to tackle those issues head-on. There’s more work to be done, and I’m ready to keep working with our communities to ensure this region thrives and that families and businesses have the tools they need to succeed.”
