Laurie Scott Acclaimed as Ontario PC Party Candidate for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock

HALIBURTON-KAWARTHA LAKES-BROCK – Today, the Ontario PC Party announced that Laurie Scott has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock in the next provincial general election.
Since her election in 2003, Laurie Scott has delivered real results, including investments in housing, high-speed internet, and infrastructure. She secured $1.57 million for new housing in Kawartha Lakes, $223.9 million for broadband expansion, and led critical upgrades to bridges in Durham Region. Her work has also enhanced health-care services through increased hospital funding and improved emergency response.
“Laurie Scott is a proven leader who has stood up for her community time and again,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “From fighting the Liberal carbon tax to improving local health care and securing critical infrastructure investments, Laurie’s dedication to Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock is unmatched. Laurie and the Ontario PC Party will continue to make life more affordable for families in Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock by reducing costs, such as cutting the gas tax and scrapping license plate fees, while investing in housing, health care, and local infrastructure.
